Kari Matchett Biography

Kari Mixett is a Canadian actress best known for her appearances in films like Apartment Hunting, â€Men with Brooms, and'The Tree of Life. She was born and raised in Spalding Saskatchewan. After high school, she relocated to Alberta. As a teenager, she became attracted to acting. To further train in acting, she attended the 'National Theatre School,' in Montreal and later attended the  Moscow Theatre School.' She first appeared on television in 1996 as a supporting actress in the Canadian series, 'The Rez. She was also featured in series like "Ready or Not" and "Forever Knight". She also made her film debut in the latter part of 1990 with the film titled "Papertrail" and later appeared in films like 'Men with Brooms' and  Cypher.' In series such as "A Nero Wolfe Mystery", and "Blue Murder," she also performed in supporting roles. Although she continued to appear in films throughout the decade, her film appearances were smaller than her television roles. In 1998, she was the lead character in the show 'Colleen Blessed' in the Canadian drama series  Power Play. The show ran for 26 episodes and earned both critical and commercial praise. For her part in the show, she was nominated to the Gemini Award. She gave birth to a son, Jude Lyon Matchett, in June 2013. She did not reveal the name or father of her son. Some sources claim that her ex-boyfriend is the father of her son. Kari Matchett met T.W. Peacocke started dating her in the mid-1990s. They got married in the month of October 1998. The marriage didn't last and they split in 2006.
