Rita Ora Bio

Rita Ora is a British singer-songwriter. Rita Sahatciu Ora was born in 1990 in Pristina (Kosovo) to Vera (Bajraktari) and Besnik Sahatciu. Besim Sahatciu is her granddaughter. When she was just one, her family made the decision to move to the United Kingdom. She was born in West London, attended St Cuthbert with St Matthias CE Primary School in Earls Court and graduated from Sylvia Young Theatre School. She began singing when she was a teenager. In 2004, she was featured in the British film Spivs. After a successful audition for Eurovision The Country That Needs You (BBC One), she was chosen to represent Britain in the 2009 Eurovision Song Contest. She then opted out of the contest after several episodes, feeling that the stage was not prepared. In 2007 Ora made her debut music video when she sang on the track by Craig David entitled "Awkward" and later in 2008 with "Where's Your Love" featuring Tinchy Stryder. she also appeared in the video. Ora began performing in bars across London. Roc Nation was informed by an A&R about Ora in the year 2009 just a few days after Ora traveled to New York and met Jay-Z. Ora was featured in Jay-Z's 2009 video for "Young Forever" and "Over" by Drake. Jay-Z was awestruck by Ora and quietly signed her up with Roc Nation. She was included in a commercial starring Skullcandy Aviator Headphones. Her father Besnik was a bar owner and she started her singing performances from the same pub. Gwen Stefani is a major influence on her character. She also mentions her father, Besnik who was a pub's owner. Kate Moss, Ed Sheeran and their buddies.
