Paula Faris
Paula Faris is an American journalist
who previously worked as the TV correspondent for ABC News. She is well-known
for her time as co-anchor of Good Morning America Weekend from 2014 to 2018 as
well as as co-host of The View from 2015 to 2018. Prior to this, she hosted
World News Now and America This Morning. After graduating, she worked in
several communications-related jobs including an operations position at
Mills/James Productions in Columbus, Ohio. Due to the limited opportunities on
television, she held a job as a sales representative for radio. She was
eventually able to find work for one year as a producer assistant for
WKEF/WRGT. Later, she would occasionally anchor or report. She was the anchor
for weekends at WCPO TV in Cincinnati as well as the anchor for weekdays at
WCPO TV in Cincinnati between 2002 and 2005. Following the expiration of her
contract in 2005, she was a anchor and reporter for sports at the NBC affiliate
WMAQ-TV in Chicago from November 2005 to December 2011. In December 2011, it
was announced that she was employed by ABC's news division, ABC News. On
January 2, 2012 she debuted on the network's World News Now and America This
Morning. She was a correspondent and fill-in for Good Morning America during
this time. Then she was made a New York-based correspondent for every ABC News
programs. She was not able to finish the final episode of World News Now or
America This Morning. The show aired on January 22nd in 2013. She debuted on
Good Morning America Weekend as co-anchor on the 9th of August, 2014. The move
came shortly after Bianna Golodryga changed her channel to Yahoo! News. ABC
announced that she would join The View as a cohost for season 19. The show
revealed on August 3 in 2016 that she was renewed for her contract for the twentieth
season. She was also renewed as a co-host for Season 21. In the 21st and 22nd
seasons she mostly appeared during the Friday episode of the program.
