Anne Burrell

Anne W. Burrell, an American television chef and an former Institute of Culinary Education instructor, is a TV personality. Burrell is host of the Food Network's Secrets of a Restaurant Chef along with being co-hosting Worst Cooks in America. The spiky blond hair and pumped-up appearance, Anne Burrell eliminates the intimidation of food in restaurants and shares simple, easy-to-master recipes to cook at home on her Food Network series Secrets of a Restaurant Chef. Chef Burrell has also worked in several of the city's most prestigious eateries, studied Italian cuisine as well as its traditions. She also took part in Food Network Iron Chef America. As a youngster in Upstate New York Chef Burrell was infatuated by food. She furthered her interest in the industry of restaurant management by enrolling at The Culinary Institute of America after earning a degree in English and communication from Canisius College, Buffalo NY. The Culinary Institute of America was an amazing opportunity for me. I could not learn or be a better cook than I did. Chef Burrell following her graduation from the Culinary Institute for Foreigners in Italy completed a one-year stint in Umbria at La Taverna del Lupo and Tuscany's La Bottega del 30, the Michelin-starred restaurant. During her time in Italy she learned to appreciate and understand the concepts of Italian food and culture that left a lasting impact on her culinary standpoint. Burrell has been a member of the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board that aims to make a difference in children's lives who are facing challenges. Additionally, she is an Juvenile Research Foundation Celebrity ambassador which promotes the awareness of the condition known as juvenile diabetes. As a keynote speaker and mentor, she travels around the U.S. to share her love for cooking and career. Through the course of her cooking career, Anne has always said I feel blessed to be able to share my passion in life with others.
